After researching his life, I found that he had met the woman from the poem , Fanny Brawne, while taking care of his brother, who had been diagnosed with tuberculosis. They were deeply in love with one another, though she was married and had children with another man.

The Romantic poet John Keats wrote this poem. Keats writes the poem in iambic pentameter. By adding an exclamation to the line, he stresses the importance of the star and to exhibit the excitement he is feeling. He wishes that he could be as steadfast and consistent as the bright star.

He is trying to say that if she were to die he might as well die as well, and that he has an overwhelming sadness that cannot be cured unless he has Rosaline.
